چکیده

This paper presents a comparative study between different nonlinear damper models, developed for semi-active Electro-Rheological damper. The first model is by extending the hysteresis to obtain dynamic characteristic of To improve accuracy capturing damper’s behavior, Bouc-Wen using parameter-varying functions control input and state. One key points in proposed models describe dynamics controlled portion force as first-order system. Hence, are adequate design synthesis Linear Parameter Varying observers controllers. parameters identified simple identification procedure. experimental validation tests performed on real 1/5-scaled vehicle testbed GIPSA-lab, namely INOVE (see www.gipsa-lab.fr/projet/inove). results assess ability characterize behaviors ER dampers.

Development and Testing of an Electronically Controlled Shock and Vibration Damper Having an Electrorheological Fluid Medium

Electrorheological (ER) materials are suspensions of micron sized particles in insulating, dielectric fluids. The mechanical properties of these materials can be controlled by regulating an electric field through them. Variable properties include stiffness, damping, and yielding behavior. At high electric fields, material property changes are rapid and immediately reversible. ER technology has ...
